RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAMMES
Hydro Electric Power Station Provides for 200,000 Inhabitants of the Andes Tolerance International in association with Operation Motto Gross has initiated the setting up of a hydro electric power station to provide electricity for 200,000 inhabitants of the Andes. The project will construct a plant capable of producing 4 megawatts of electricity, which has the capacity of offsetting around 2,000 tonnes of C02 per year.
This project is part of an expansion programme to 600kwh power plant, which is already in operation, and has the offsetting capacity of about 300 tonnes of C02 per year providing electricity to tens of thousands of people in the Andes at a nominal cost.
Wind Turbine Planned for the Street Children of Chimbote As part of Tolerance International's Social Development Programme, a project is planned to provide electricity for a street children complex in Chimbote, Peru in partnership with Operation Motto Grosso. The programme hopes to provide a wind turbine powerplant for provision of electricity to the street children complex. The electricity generated will provide power for irrigation for agricultural production.
